🟦 PROJECT INTRODUCTION
Composer Nubim is a unique artist who bridges architecture and music, East and West, classical and jazz.
Connectivity captures the essence of her multicultural artistic journey and is structured around two key pillars:
▫️Modernization of Korean Traditional Arts
Elements of Korean shamanic ritual music, folk rhythms, and traditional melodies like Jindo Arirang are reinterpreted by Western musicians in their own voices, moving beyond simple mimicry to create equal, dynamic musical partnerships.
▫️Musical Reinterpretation of Global Art
Inspired by flamenco dance steps, Hemingway’s novels, and Le Corbusier’s architecture, the project translates diverse artistic influences into music. Examples include “Fierce Footsteps,” which fuses flamenco rhythm with contemporary classical music, and “A Strong Will,” based on Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea.
▫️Reimagined Solos – The Connection Between Performers and Music
Alongside Nubim’s original compositions, the ensemble has reimagined five well-known pieces, each tailored to highlight the performers’ individual styles and aspirations. This natural connection between musician and music brings the theme of “Connectivity” vividly to life.
